This is Stirling herding Singe!

Stirling

Well, I decided to start this--I don't know how long it will last, but I'd like to share some of my adventures with Stirling. He is a *great* beautiful Border Collie. He has started obedience lessons, agility lessons and now to herding.
My love is obedience, I have trained with some great obedience trainers including, Adele Yunck, Linda Brady, Terri Arnold and now Debby Boehme. Most of my experience has been with Terri and her methods are most aligned with my comfort of training; although, I am always opened to learn more to enhance my training style. My biggest motivation is to keep it fun and interesting for the dog as obedience, often, seems pointless to the pup and sometimes against everything they know--who said to walk with your head straight up in the air??
I started Agility here in Arizona with my dear friend Chris Hill. It is ironic how we met, and I am glad we did. I guess since I have a BC, it is required via the BC laws of the universe that 2 things must occur. One, is agility and the other, of course is HERDING!
Well, Stirling is just 5 months and I am getting prepared to take him for his instinct test with Molly Wisecarver in Mayer, AZ. She trains Stirling's Sire and Dam, both who are wonderful herding dogs. I am looking forward to see how he takes to sheep!
Right now, we have Stir's BFF here, Singe, while Chris is at the Agility Nationals. Singe is a sweet athletic pup who is highly motivated by people. I love having the 2 BCs together (although, not much training gets done!).
